A student

We encourage our future engineers to be open to an international career, and have done so for the past 20 years. For this, we have important mobility programmes for the students. A number of internships can be carried out in a foreign country, as well as semesters of academic studies as a result of partnerships with 70 universities worldwide.

This opening to an international career can also be reinforced with a double diploma with Germany, and soon Spain. CPE Lyon also welcomes foreign students for the whole of the core syllabus, or for a single semester or for the summer school.

Our students have the possibility to do an internship either between year 4 and 5 of their higher education (a complete year in industry) or for the Final Year Project (6 months) in order to graduate at the end of the cursus. Therefore, there are a large number of students who choose this option and do their industrial internship in Europe, the USA, or Asia, etc.

This year in industry has obviously many advantages for the student engineer. Moreover, for the company, this allows them to know candidates with a different education and competences coming from different schools. By welcoming students every year, the company can build up a reserve of potential engineers for future employment. As the student has knowledge of the company, they will be able to apply more easily for jobs. Likewise for the company, it will be easier to recruit someone having already done an internship with them.

To sum up, what we can offer foreign companies is to know a network of French engineers by including students in 6 or 12-month internships as future engineers, in the context of their studies having already reached 4th year of higher education.
