  • Applicants are selected by the university they wish to go to.
  • Quotas are applied for certain destinations.
  • The length of stay is 8 months (2 terms) for courses and 10 or 12 months (3 terms plus summer) for courses and the end of course project if you wish to complete it in the host university’s laboratories.
  • The number of credits acquired (from 18 to 21 Quebec credits depending on the case) is validated by CPE Lyon towards obtaining the engineer diploma.

Trans-Atlantic Science Student Exchange Program (TASSEP)

For the 2 specialities Chemistry – Chemical Engineering and Electronics - Telecommunications – Computer science.

This exchange is based on reciprocally sending and hosting students on either side of the Atlantic, as its name indicates, from Europe and North America (Canada and USA).

  • The selection of European students is undertaken by the European co-ordinator, based at Aarhus University in Denmark. There are a very limited number of places available.
  • The stay is 8 months (2 terms) for courses and 10 or 12 months (3 terms plus summer) for courses and the end of course project if you wish to complete it in the host university’s laboratories.

A “silent” partner in Erasmus. Erasmus grants are given by Switzerland. Same type of studies as for Erasmus with the ECTS credit system, validated by CPE Lyon towards the engineer diploma.

Placement programmes

Vulcanus

For the 2 specialities Chemistry – Chemical Engineering and Electronics - Telecommunications – Computer science

In the year out: 8 month placements in industry with intensive preliminary 4 month Japanese course.
A grant of 15,000 euros is given for the trip and expenses when there (accommodation, food, extras etc).

Summer Program in Taiwan

For the 2 specialities Chemistry – Chemical Engineering and Electronics - Telecommunications – Computer science

Year out: 6 months, or pupil engineer placement in year 4, 3 months:
Placements in university laboratories for up to 6 months (from June to December) or possibly in an enterprise.

A grant of 1,000 euros for the period (2 to 6 months) is given by the Taiwan government.

ACS-iREU program : International Research Experience for European Undergraduates at US Laboratories

For students on the Chemistry – Chemical Engineering course

Year 3 practice placement.
Duration: 8 weeks.

The American Chemistry Society and 4 European universities, including CPE Lyon, that are part of the ECTN (European Chemistry Thematic Network Association) have set up a student exchange programme between France, Italy, England and the USA.

The CPE Lyon student selected (1 per year) benefits from the Rhône-Alpes region grant Explo’ra Sup and additional funding from the school.
