2 specialities

2 specialities

For historic reasons, CPE Lyon offers general courses in 2 specialities:

Chemistry - Process Engineering

All chemistry disciplines are studied: organic chemistry, analytical chemistry and process engineering so that students have a global vision of the discipline, from designing the molecules to their industrial and commercial development.

There are numerous openings:

  • Energy, petrochemicals: transformation of natural resources into raw materials.
  • Health, pharmaceuticals sector: design and formulation of molecules.
  • Beauty, cosmetics: formulation of molecules.
  • Building material economy and security, high performance materials, thermal and acoustic quality.
  • Food processing industry and agriculture: formulation, food packaging, food conservation, hygiene, plant production.
  • Sport: board sports, high performance textiles, analysis.
  • Environment: green chemistry, clean processes, physico-chemical analysis, treatment of pollutants.
  • Biotechnology: transforming molecules to improve human and animal health.
  • Electronics: chemical media for coding and transforming information

Electronics - Telecommunications - Informatics

New technologies are developing rapidly and have become the driver behind scientific and industrial advances with increasingly complex systems that combine electronics, telecommunications and informatics… which is why the CPE Lyon course covers these three fields so that students become really versatile.

A few examples of sectors of activity in which our graduates work:

  • Standard electronics: DVD, digital television, computers, game consoles
  • Telecommunications: Internet, mobile telephony, wireless and satellite networks.
  • Digital leisure: video games, special effects, image synthesis.
  • Health, medicine: scanner and MRI systems, diagnostic assistance systems, computer assisted surgery, artificial retina etc.
  • Beauty, cosmetics: 3D imagery of the epidermis, hair, product efficiency measurement.
  • Automobile, aeronautics: driving assistance systems (ABS, ESP), onboard software, design software, aerodynamic simulation, engine regulation.
  • Sciences: simulating and modelling physical phenomena (meteorology, nuclear physics etc), space image analysis.
  • Banking, finance: computerising financial streams, modelling stock markets.
  • Environment: design and production of electronic systems for solar energy, wind power etc.
