CPE Lyon continues to advance its internationalisation strategy through the submission of several funding applications
Since the beginning of 2026, CPE Lyon has submitted five funding applications (three under the Erasmus+ programme and two within the “Ambition Internationale” call launched by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region). These initiatives, which are key to the school’s international development, are structured around two main objectives: facilitating the arrival of international students and further internationalising academic programmes.
These applications cover a wide range of fields and formats, including international mobility, enhanced teaching in European studies, and academic cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence applied to health and PFAS analysis.
Facilitating the arrival 
of talented students through mobility projects
CPE Lyon has submitted two projects directly focused on student and staff mobility.
Erasmus+ mobility project supported by external action funds.
This project aims to strengthen or develop academic and scientific cooperation through the funding of mobility schemes with selected partner institutions in Canada (chemistry and biotechnology), Lebanon (biotechnology), Colombia and Argentina (telecommunications).
This cross-cutting project involves all academic departments at CPE Lyon and builds on partnerships that are either long-standing (notably with Canadian and Colombian universities) or emerging (particularly with institutions in Argentina and Lebanon).
If selected, the project will provide mobility grants to support semester-long academic exchanges for students from partner universities coming to CPE Lyon over the next three years. It will also offer opportunities for CPE Lyon students to study abroad at Université de Sherbrooke and Université de Montréal.
The project also includes a dedicated component for academic and administrative staff, enabling the funding of bilateral teaching and training mobilities.
Ambition Internationale project for hosting research interns
In addition to the Erasmus+ project, CPE Lyon has also applied for regional 
funding to support the arrival of master’s students wishing to carry out research internships in its laboratories. If successful, this project will run over a three-year period.
Internationalising CPE Lyon’s curricula and programmes
CPE Lyon is strengthening the international dimension of its programmes through the development of innovative and structured European projects. These initiatives aim to enrich curricula through a stronger European perspective, integrate international expertise, and prepare students to operate in global scientific and professional environments.
A Jean Monnet Module for European Studies
CPE Lyon has submitted a Jean Monnet Module project aimed at integrating teaching on the European Union and its policies into academic programmes, particularly within the European Biotechnology for Sustainability (EBS) track. The objective is to reinforce competencies in social sciences, economics and humanities from a European perspective.
This project will support the internationalisation of curricula by involving international experts from academia, industry and public institutions specialising in European affairs. Their contributions will cover topics such as sustainability, geopolitics and European institutions, while also raising students’ awareness of career opportunities in European scientific environments.
AI4DD: Artificial Intelligence for Drug Design
CPE Lyon coordinates the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership project “AI4DD” (Artificial Intelligence for Drug Design), in collaboration with the University of Seville, CSIC Cartuja (Spain’s national research council, equivalent to the CNRS in France), and Gabriele d’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara.
The project aims to develop a MOOC dedicated to artificial intelligence applied to drug design. If selected, it will start in December 2026 and run for three years. This is the first project of this type submitted by CPE Lyon in nearly a decade.
Structuring a leading analytical hub on PFAS through international scientific collaboration
The Industrial Analytical Chemistry Laboratory (LCAI) at CPE Lyon is increasingly solicited by external stakeholders for PFAS analysis.
This project aims to sustainably strengthen the laboratory’s expertise in PFAS analysis by building high-level international collaborations and adopting a “learning by doing” approach.
Through these diverse projects, both in format and thematic scope, CPE Lyon demonstrates its strong commitment to pursuing its internationalisation strategy, with the ambition of offering ever more innovative academic programmes and developing structured international partnerships.
The results are expected in summer 2026—until then, we are keeping our fingers crossed.
Through these applications, CPE Lyon reaffirms its determination and ambition to further advance its international development strategy.
