Visit of the japanese consul in Lyon

On Tuesday, June 10th, we welcomed Consul Keiko SAKATA from the Japanese consular office in Lyon and her assistant Jessica BOILLOT to CPE.

After a short introduction by our director Gerard PIGNAULT, our Japanese teachers Michie SUGAWARA and Shima SUNAOSHI, and our head of the language department, Jessica LOPEZ, Daniela PALANDRE, coordinator of international relations for the German-speaking area and Japan, gave a presentation on internship opportunities in Japan. Our third-year students then gave presentations in Japanese on the theme of travel. These presentations made a strong impression with their originality and humorous tone.

Then, Mrs. SAKATA, head of the consulate’s economic and scientific department, presented her diplomatic career to our students and gave an overview of the consulate’s missions. Mrs BOILLOT completed the presentation by providing valuable advice for the professional life in Japan.

The reception ended with a tour of our organic chemistry laboratory led by Jérémie BOYER and a tour of the robotics laboratory led by Raphaël LEBER.

We thank Mrs. SAKATA and Mrs. BOILLOT for their visit. We hope to continue this good cooperation with the consular office to deepen our relations with Japan.
