RESULTS OF THE SCIENTIFIC POSTER COMPETITION SPONSORED BY GSK

On April 16, the 3rd year students of the chemistry-process engineering program presented their scientific poster showcasing their work on an assigned organic chemistry project to GSK representatives.

GSK was represented by 2 CPE Lyon alumni, Maxime Rouah and Sophie Bertrand currently working in the UK. They remotely assessed the students’ oral presentations and awarded the prizes.

The winning group and projects of the Poster presentations

The 4 topics covered this year were: protection of functional groups, synthesis of alkenes, reactivity of nitrogen derivatives and reactivity of cinnamaldehyde.

The teams rewarded for their oral presentations (one per topic) were:

Subject “Protection of functional groups: group comprising Paul Belissent, Hanaé de Lingua de Saint Blanquat, Noémie Garcia, Marceau Pochat, Méline Piot, Marine Tourner, coached by Jérémie Boyer

Subject “Synthesis of alkenes: group comprising Maxime Arnaud, Sasha Labbe, Léana Loyer, Axelle Perrono, Jules Play, Terii Toofa, coached by Emilie Brulé

Subject “Reactivity of nitrogen derivatives“: group composed of Aurore Bresson, Clément Courbon, Clémentine Cusset, Astrid Lepercq, Tudine Philippe, Hugo Servant, coached by Gabriel Borrego

Subject “Cinnamaldehyde reactivity“: Zélie Chapuis, Adélie Desabres, Gabin Fromont, Emilie Marion, Alice Pascaretti, Hadrien Puygranier, coached by Dan Louvel.

These projects are tutored by part of the school’s organic chemistry professors: Aurélie Rago (Project Manager), Emilie Brulé, Fabien Toulgoat, Jérémie Boyer, Gabriel Borrego and Dan Louvel.

GSK also awarded prizes for the students with the best grades in Organic Chemistry

Matthieu Alépée and Anaïs Gros, currently in 4th year, were the recipients of the GSK prizes for their excellent results in organic chemistry. Congratulations to both of them!

CPE Lyon would like to express their warmest thanks to GSK for their support to this initiative that is particularly important as part of the training program of our students.
